Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Wed, November 9, 2005 - 10:19 AMThat is so funny about not wanting to share!
Heck if my husband was interested in ASoIaF I'd really be screwed I'd end up with 4 copies...lol!
Yesterday, after I picked up my book at B&N I realized that I still had to buy another book to get into his book signing in San Diego. So, now I have two copies but that works too. One I'm reading now the other I will pick up in San Diego on the 20th for the book signing! I can't wait! Oh, gotta go more reading to do! I need a vacation in Westeros too!
Happy reading everyone! :)

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 6:14 AMWhen aSoS came out I finished it in a few days, but I'm taking a bit more time with this one. Of course, I was in college then and had more free time, but still... have to savor the book. That said, I did skip the Captain of the Guards chapter since I had just read it online, but I've reread all of the other previously released chapters. Good stuff so far :) -

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 3:37 PMI'm trying to take it slow too...but it isn't working so well. Doesn't help that I have a ton of time on my hands right now...
It took me about 60 p ages or so but I'm totally into it. It was a slower start than I remember with the others. Did anyone else think so?
Also, and I don't think I'm spoiling anything here...is anyone else having a hard time giving a damn about the Iron Islands? It's all I can do not to skim those pertaining chapters. Maybe it's just me... -

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 3:49 PMI still haven't got to far into the book but I will have to agree! The Iron Isles just aren't floating my boat either :) -

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 3:51 PMIt really surprises me as they are so Viking in their nature and I LOVE my Scandinavian heritage...but geez...I can do without the cold hearted drowning bastards. -

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Mon, November 21, 2005 - 3:19 PMI just wrote a huge, multi-page post on the book in the spoilers topic and realized when I saw this post that I totally forgot the Iron Island scene were even in the book one day after finishing it. Talk about didn't stick in your mind!

Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Sun, November 13, 2005 - 5:24 PMYAAAY!
Finally got it yesterday, I'm already about 130 pages in despite having had very little uninterrupted reading time....
Also finally got The Hedge Knight while I was a t it, but I'll be reading that later. -
-
Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Sun, November 13, 2005 - 6:55 PMThe two Hedge Knight stories are required reading for everyone who wants to understand as much of the history and how it relates to the current saga as they can. I've already noticed something that happens in aFfC that relates to the hedge knight, Duncan the Tall. Did anyone notice what it was? -
-
Re: Everyone get their book today?!
Sun, November 13, 2005 - 10:34 PMHow could I not notice? But I won't spoil it for others.
Anyway, there's a combined Hedge Knight story book? I have the two Legends volumes, but may be tempted to get them both in one volume...
